Official event
To commence Platinum Jubilee celebrations, on Thursday 2 June 2022, the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee Beacon will be lit on Canberra’s Lake Burley Griffin. This lighting will coincide with other beacon lightings in Commonwealth capital cities and throughout the United Kingdom.
At approx. 9:00 pm (AEST) members of the public will be welcome to view the Beacon Lighting ceremony from vantage points around Canberra’s Regatta Point on Lake Burley Griffin (weather permitting).
