Between 2 to 5 June 2022, iconic buildings and monuments around Australia will be illuminated in royal purple to mark The Queen’s Platinum Jubilee celebrations.
To commence Platinum Jubilee celebrations, on Thursday 2 June 2022, the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee Beacon will be lit in Canberra. This lighting will coincide with other beacon lightings throughout the United Kingdom and capital cities of the Commonwealth.
On Saturday 4 June 2022, a ceremony will be held to rename Aspen Island on Lake Burley Griffin to Queen Elizabeth II Island.
